Sally Blakeley2023-04-30The house exterior weatherboard and window paint condition was in a very poor state and needed a total overhaul including timber repairs, cracked/flaking lead paint strip, metal flashing replacement, gutter replacement and window re-putty. We pretty much selected Davis House Painters, exterior painters in Auckland, based on a positive initial on-site meeting with Paul (owner) who took the time to explain the benefits and process of doing the job right for a long-lasting quality finish that followed the Resene Certified environmentally safe processes for lead paint stripping, containment, handling and disposal. Paul's was not the cheapest quote but was the best value considering safe process, thoroughness and quality. The main works took four weeks (3 for prep, 1 for painting) despite frequent wet weather, and started on the day agreed 6 months prior. The crew was professional, friendly and helpful in coordinating their work with the builder (wood repairs, flashing install), gutter installer and us living amongst it all. At the end of each shift the site was made safe, secure, clean and tidy. During the works, roof cleaning and repaint was added to the scope based on inspection and advice from Paul. Resene's undertook a quality audit during the works and had no issues. The end result is fantastic, and we wouldn't hesitate to use Davis House Painters again and would definitely recommend them to others.
