The house exterior weatherboard and window paint condition was in a very poor state and needed a total overhaul including timber repairs, cracked/flaking lead paint strip, metal flashing replacement, gutter replacement and window re-putty. We pretty much selected Davis House Painters, exterior painters in Auckland, based on a positive initial on-site meeting with Paul (owner) who took the time to explain the benefits and process of doing the job right for a long-lasting quality finish that followed the Resene Certified environmentally safe processes for lead paint stripping, containment, handling and disposal. Paul's was not the cheapest quote but was the best value considering safe process, thoroughness and quality. The main works took four weeks (3 for prep, 1 for painting) despite frequent wet weather, and started on the day agreed 6 months prior. The crew was professional, friendly and helpful in coordinating their work with the builder (wood repairs, flashing install), gutter installer and us living amongst it all. At the end of each shift the site was made safe, secure, clean and tidy. During the works, roof cleaning and repaint was added to the scope based on inspection and advice from Paul. Resene's undertook a quality audit during the works and had no issues. Paul Davis runs a tight well-supervised crew, who always perform to schedule. They have completed interior and exterior painting throughout my residence. I have appreciated Paul's advice on colour and product choices, as he has extensive knowledge and experience, and an eye for results. Paul and his team painted the entire exterior of our two storey house as well as completing some indoor painting for us.  From our very first meeting with Paul we were impressed with his knowledge and his professionalism.  We took his advice on colours and this has proved to be a very wise choice as our now fully painted house is looking fantastic.  Paul's team when on site were all very respectful and friendly and in particular Ash who painted a great deal of the house on his own throughout some dreadful weather and whose attention to detail was noted not only by us but by our neighbours as well.  We have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone who is looking for a professional and friendly team.

Paul is the absolute professional. I had my house interior painted throughout, including living, 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and the garage. Paul consulted on the colours to use with a keen eye for the finished look. The quality of the job was outstanding and I am extremely happy with it. It was on time, on budget and the result far exceeded my expectations. Paul also colour matched the exterior of the house for some touch ups and one would never know the difference. Paul and his team completed a significant sized exterior task to change large stained cedar panels on our home to a regular high quality paint finish in a different color.  This involved removing much of the stain and subsequent preparation of the surfaces before applying four coats of paint to make the change. The job has been completed to an exceptional standard. It has also been a pleasure to have Paul and his team on site at our home. Top quality work, great customer service and a pleasure to have them working on this job for us. I am really impressed with the way a difficult job was handled. Davis painters turned two walls in my office into whiteboards and the end result is excellent but what really impressed me was the way Paul conducted himself. Due to poor wall perpetration from another painter Paul had to come back a couple times to get the right result, which he did without question.
